Evidence for God’s Existence

There’s a world of difference between “there’s no evidence for God” and “there’s no evidence I accept for God.” No amount of evidence will convince a closed mind.

The majority of humanity accepts the existence of a higher power; this is no accident. That notion is built into us. William James suggests that humanity is incurably religious because individuals have a deep-seated need for spiritual experiences that connect them to something greater than themselves.

There’s plenty of evidence in the fact that the universe had a beginning, and therefore must have had a Beginner. The fact that there is design everywhere in the universe, which requires a Designer. The fact that there are laws of nature, which require a Lawgiver.

Just common sense would tell you that if you have the choice between everything coming from nothing or everything coming from God, nothing is the funniest guess of all. Because if “nothing” somehow created the universe, then your nothing is a pretty god‑like nothing.
