Curiosity and Awakening

We should approach our mental, emotional, and physical experiences with a simple question: What is this?

Why ask this?

Great curiosity — great awakening.
Little curiosity — little awakening.
No curiosity — no awakening.

Curiosity, whose Latin roots mean “care” and “careful attention,” is the impulse that drives us to explore, ask questions, and seek understanding. It’s what moves people—and even animals—to look beyond the familiar in search of something new. More than a passing interest, curiosity fuels learning and growth, shaping how we gain knowledge, hone our skills, and make sense of the world around us.
